TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run train company PT Kereta Api Indonesia as the commuter train operator at Soekarno-Hatta airport will have a 30-year concession right to serve the Manggarai-Airport route.

"It can be extended," the directorate general of train affairs at the Transportation Ministry, Hermanto Dwiatmoko, said on Thursday, July 10, 2014.

According to Hermanto, PT KAI is now finishing the construction the Batuceper-Airport lane following the completion of the Duri-Tangerang lane by the Directorate General of Train Affairs in June.

The airport commuter, Hermanto said, would be able to carry 10 million passengers per year. He added that there would be 128 commuter trains serving the Manggarai-Airport route daily.

The transportation ministry has recently signed the Airport commuter train project with PT KAI that will be fully operational beginning July 2015.
