Police Seize 15 Tons Illegal Diesel

TEMPO.CO, Samarinda - The Marine Police Unit of Samarinda, East Kalimantan seized 15 tons of illegal diesel fuel on Monday, July 1. The fuel was being carried on board the Herlina 36 tugboat the Mahakam River, Samarinda, without valid transport document.
The police had also seized the tugboat as evidence. Two people were captured, Yusuf Subhani (71) and Kristoforus (72), the tugboat's captain.
"Both are being questioned as suspects," Samarinda Marine Police Chief, Comr. Suko Widodo, said on Tuesday, July 2. The two men bought the diesel fuel from a man named Subhani in Kutai Kertanegara district.
The tugboat sailed from Samarinda to Kutai Kertanegara through the Mahakam River. Based on the Muhadi's statements, Subhani bought the fuels from fishing boats.
