Jokowi Cancels Transjakarta Tariff Increase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo stated that he has cancelled his plan to increase Transjakarta tariff. The Governor mentioned that the tariff for Transjakarta will remain at Rp 3,500 to prevent people from altering to personal vehicles, which will inevitably cause more traffic.

He also claimed that he will promote efficiency on spare parts and operational cost in response to the fuel price increase.

Previously, Jokowi stated that Transjakarta tariff will be increased up to Rp 5,000, to compensate for the increasing price of spare parts caused by the fuel price increase.
