PKB: Ridwan Kamil, Khofifah Join Jokowi-Ma`ruf Campaign Team

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nation Awakening Party (PKB) chairman Muhaimin Iskandar said West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa would join the National Campaign Team (TKN) of Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin pair. Both governors would play an important role in the team structure.
“Definitely. Whatever the position, they will join [in the campaign team],” Muhaimin confirmed at State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 5.
Muhaimin said Ridwan Kamil and Khofifah were needed in the team structure to encourage the public and as community mobilizer. “The parties supporting Jokowi have talked to them.”
Nine secretaries-general of coalition party supporting Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin had already submitted the structure of the National Campaign Team to the General Election Commission (KPU) on Monday, August 20, 2018. However, the team leader has not yet revealed thus far.
Based on KPU regulation, the team formation could be renewed until a day before the campaign period on September 23, 2018.
Other than Ridwan Kamil and Khofifah, a number of regional heads from the outside of the coalition party would partake in supporting Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin candidate pair in the 2019 Presidential Election, including NTB Governor Tuan Guru Bajang Zainul Majdi, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, and East Java Governor Soekarwo.
