TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) would examine Social Minister Idrus Marham over the bribery case of the steam-fueled power plant PLTU Riau-I project as the witness of suspect Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo.
“He’ll be quizzed as a former secretary general of Golkar Party,” said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah, Wednesday, July 25.
Earlier, KPK has summoned Idrus on Thursday, July 19, over an alleged bribery to Golkar politician. “[The investigation] is still afoot as indications showed up,” said KPK deputy commissioner Saut Situmorang.
During an eleven-hour examination, Idrus admitted he was close with Eni and Johannes, the suspects of the bribery case. He usually called Eni with a nickname “Dinda” or little sister, while Johannes as “Abang” or brother.
The anti-graft body named the House’s Energy Commission Eni Maulana Saragih and businessman Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo as the suspect. Eni allegedly received bribery money worth Rp4.8 billion from Johannes to expedite the deal process of the power plant project in Riau.
Saut said KPK was still investigating other parties in the bribery case and that Idrus Marham was summoned as a witness. “But we’ll see it later after the investigation whether his status changes,” Saut added.
