TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry’s Directorate General of Taxation (Tax DG) expects that its official website that was hacked since Sunday evening, June 10, will be fully recovered today.
“It is currently in its recovery phase under the hands of our IT department,” said Tax DG’s public relations director Hestu Yoga Saksama today.
According to Hestu, the hacker changed the website’s homepage with another outlook displaying a desert as its backdrop and a Palestinian flag with the writing "HACKED BY ANONYMOUS ARABE".

Immediately after the attack took place, the Tax DG temporarily took down its website and had visitors diverted from the hacked www.pajak.go.id to djponline.pajak.go.id.
Despite the website's not being fully-recovered yet, Hestu assures that every tax database, feature, and application are secure considering that each service has its own differences.
Hestu further explained that taxpayers' data are not stored on the website. “It was only the front page that was hacked,” said Hestu. Prior to this, the Tax DG's website was last hacked in 2013.
