Transport Minister Inspects Readiness of Homecoming Transports

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi today will check the availability of Eid Day transportation in three locations, namely Soekarno Hatta Airport, Pulo Gebang Terminal and Gambir Station.
"Budi Karya Sumadi will conduct a working visit related to the Readiness of 2018 Eid Day Facilities and Infrastructure," said the public relations release of the Ministry of Transportation on Sunday, June 3.
According to the Tempo monitoring on location, Budi Karya arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport at around 09:50 am.
Budi Karya has also checked the transportation at Merak Port on Saturday, June 2. During his visit, Budi Karya requested that the operation or patrol conducted by the Police in Merak and Bakauheni not only at night but also at noon.
On Thursday, May 31, Budi Karya said the peak flow of homecoming is estimated to occur three days before Eid Day or D-3, which falls on June 12.
Because of the prediction of peak homecoming in those times, Budi advises homecomers to go home early or on D-7, D-6, and D-5.
"Because on D-2 and D-3 must be the peak," said Budi.
