TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The motorcycle taxi or known as online ojek, Go-Jek and Grab, staged another rally today Wednesday, March 28 despite having mediation with President Joko Widodo or Jokowi yesterday.
Referred to an invitation letter circulated in social media, the protest will take place at 07:00 am in front of the State Palace. The meeting point will be at Lapangan IRTI, National Monument, Central Jakarta. The today's rally is a following protest they held yesterday at Merdeka Palace.

They demanded the revocation of Transportation Ministerial Decree No. 108/2017 on non-route public transportation which is valid on February 1, 2018. The driver deemed the meeting with Jokowi did not come into conclusion on revoking the decree.
The protestors demanded the government to protect them by issuing a legitimate law and assure their independence as well as the welfare of the driver. According to Andre, one of the participants, the difference in the tariff fare between both companies has disadvantaged the driver.

The driver Andre claimed to not bother by the competition of both online-based transportation service provider. However, he hoped it would not affect the driver welfare as its partner. “We are their partner, not sales," he added.
In the meeting with the government officials including President Jokowi, the drivers of Go-Jek and Grab were assured that an inter-ministerial meeting will be held related to their objection to the decree No. 108 or its termination while the revocation in the process.
