TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was infuriated by the leaked official warrant for the closure of 4Play club and bar, formerly Alexis Hotel.
The governor maintained that the leaked letter was supposed to only circulate within the Public Order Agency (Sapol PP). According to Anies, this incident shows the lack of discipline among Jakarta provincial administration.
This incident drove the governor’s inner team to commence an investigation into who leaked the warrant. One of the Governors Team for Accelerated Development (TGUPP) member Naufal Firman Yusrak even asked a journalist from a national news media.
“[Naufal Firman] rang me up to ask about the letter, I told him that us journalists never received info about the warrant from Satpol PP deputy chief Hidayatullah or from the head of the tourism department Toni Bako. We only contacted them to confirm about the warrant that suddenly circulated,” said the female journalist.

A warrant with the letterhead of Jakarta Satpol PP circulated throughout social media, saying that government plans to forcefully close down Alexis on March 22. The warrant also stated that the operation would involve 325 joint personnel.
The journalist was also asked by the governor’s spokesman to hand over the recording of her interview with Hidayatullah and Toni Bako. However, she refused to comply with the request as to protect her source.
She explained that Naufal warned her about her journalism and that she should not violate any journalistic ethical code. “I said to Naufal that I will not be intimidated.”
Furthermore, Naufal has yet provided confirmation regarding the government’s hunt to look for the person who leaked the document and only told Tempo to meet him at the City Hall.
Governor Anies Baswedan confirmed that the government is indeed planning to close down 4Play, ex-Alexis, in Ancol, North Jakarta, as suggested by the circulated warrant. However, he said that it would not be commenced today.
