TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) announced that the worm-infested canned mackerels the agency discovered were only found in a single batch of the three brands that were recently forced to recall their products from the market.
“The importer will recall it all for safety reasons,” said Suratmono, BPOM Deputy of processed food monitoring on Thursday, March 22.

Suratmono was referring to specific product batches imported into Indonesia under the code number 3502/01106 35 1 356 (Farmerjack mackerel), 370/12 (IO), and 3502/01103/- (Hoki).
Furthermore, Suratmono claimed that the agency did not find other batches containing worms after the agency tested 10 other imported and local mackerel brands throughout Indonesia.
“We did not find anything at the moment,” said Suratmono.
As previously reported, the Indonesian public was shocked by the discovery of BPOM Pekanbaru about the canned mackerel of the brand Farmerjack that contaminated with roundworms.
