According to FPI Spokesman Novel Bamukmin, FPI is driven to hold the peaceful rally after Tempo published a cartoon that pictured a man in a white robe sitting in front of a woman published in February 26th edition of the Tempo Magazine. Novel perceived the man as the FPI supreme leader, Rizieq Shihab.
The FPI members will assemble at the Al-Ishlah Mosque in Petamburan, Central Jakarta before heading to Tempo office. "The peace rally will be held after Friday prayer," Novel said, Thursday, March 15. However, Novel could not yet confirm the number of the protesters who will join the rally.
FPI demands an official clarification from Tempo regarding the cartoon mentioned above. "And to apologize for what the cartoon meant," said Novel.
