TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police Investigator immediately called Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan regarding the report of an alleged violation of road closure in Jalan Jatibaru Raya, Tanah Abang.
"We will call (Anies) at the time a sprindik issued," said the head of the Jakarta Police's special crimes unit Sr. Comr. Adi Deriyan in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 27.
The police will Anies a week after the sprindik [a letter ordering the start of an investigation] released. The police investigators will first call the Ahok volunteer Jack Boyd Lapian as a reporting witness over his report on the road closure.

In the report No. LP/995/II/2018/PMJ.Dit Reskrimsus dated February 22, 2018, Jack reported Anies Baswedan as Jakarta Governor who allegedly violating Article 12 of Law No. 37/2004 on the road which bans any activities that interfere with the road functions.
Jack mentioned the road closure on Jalan Jatibaru has run approximately for two months since December 22, 2017, but it did not have a legal policy. Due to the road closure, he argued, many problems arose as Jakarta Provincial Government gave freedom for street vendors (PKL) to run their business on the road.
Various communities, according to Jack, argued that the policy is controversial and opposed the law. He added that the Jakarta Police traffic directorate also sent a letter of recommendation on the arrangement of Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta to the Jakarta Provincial Government.
The letter recommends Anies Baswedan to restore and re-optimize the function of Jalan Jatibaru Raya. The roads opening have reduced the traffic jams and traffic accidents as well as improved public transport services in Tanah Abang.
