BNPB: President Orders to Mobilize Resources to Mitigate Disaster

TEMPO.CO, Brebes - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has instructed search and rescue team (SAR) to mobilize all possible resources to  mitigate natural disaster including landslide taking place in Brebes Regency, Central Java, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) head Willem Rampangilei stated.

"The President has ordered me to mitigate the disaster in Brebes Regency. He gave two instructions namely mobilize all possible resources and perform emergency measures the best we can." He said in Pasir Panjang Village, Brebes Regency on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 24.

He went on by saying that BNPB representing the government expresses the highest appreciation to Brebes Regent, the military/police, and all volunteers who have executed emergency responses really well.

BNBP’s visit to the site, he continued, is intended to meet the orders given by the President.

"In addition, in the emergency situation, taking relief measures from the impact of the disaster is imperative to carry out," he said.

He explained that BNBP has received report of damages and it will be coordinated with related institutions.
