TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The victims losing their lives in a bush crash on Emen ascent in Ciater of Subang Regency increased into 27 people. In addition, 24 victims suffered severe injury and eight others had minor injury.
"All victims have been evacuated and they are under medical treatment," Subang Police chief Ajn. Sr. Comr. Muhammad Joni said on Sunday (11/2). Out of 32 injured, Joni went on, two asked to be referred to hospitals in Jakarta and Tangerang. "We will facilitate the request."
Joni revealed that nine victims are still unidentified. As a result, the police cannot publish the list of the victims’ names. "When the data is complete, we will disseminate the data to public."
Subang Traffic Police chief Ajn. Sr. Comr. Budhy Hendratno explained the accident began when a bus with plate number F-7959-AA headed off to Subang from Bandung on Saturday afternoon (10/2).
When the bus driver Amirudin passed a winding descent, he lost control of the bus. "The bus hit a Honda Beat motorcycle with plate numberT-4382-MM," Budhy said.
After hitting the motorcycle, the bus still went on and hit a cliff on the left side of the road. The bus then fell on the side of the road. Until now, the police still has not figured out the cause of the accident.
