3 Duck Dishes to Try at Bangkalan Madura

TEMPO.CO, Bangkalan - In Bangkalan, Madura Island, which is about 43 kilometers from Surabaya, you will find quite a variation of duck dishes such as fried duck, steamed duck, until the herbs-wrapped duck, of course, the choice depends on your taste.

Try these duck dishes at these three restaurants:

1. Sinjay Duck Rice

If you come from Surabaya, "Rumah Makan Sinjay" is on the right side of the road. This restaurant, that belongs to H. Endin, is located in Jalan Raya Ketengan No. 45, Tunjung, Burneh.

The main menu is the fried duck with pencit sambal (mango sauce), with a sprinkling of crumbs from spices which is delicious when mixed with rice fresh vegetables. The spices seep enough into the meat, only the skin is still thick, not crispy.

One fried duck added with a rice and mineral water is priced around of Rp25,000. The restaurant is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

2. Songkem Duck Pak Salim

Just few meters from the Sinjay, there is a Songkem Duck Restaurant in Jalan Raya Ketengan No. 85 Burneh.

The special menu is the steamed duck. It is a healthy duck dish because of its low cholesterol.

The price for the fried duck package is around Rp25,000. This restaurant also provides fried chicken and steamed chicken dishes.

It is open until 9:00 pm so it can be an option for dinner.

3. Rabek Duck

One more option to eat duck in Bangkalan is the Rabek Duck Restaurant, located on Jalan Raya Teuku Umar. Carrying the recipes of the ancestors, which became a special menu, it is a duck with black spices-herbs with savory aroma.

It has special names, such as protol duck, the fried duck with kremes (crisp) and sambal, kobong duck with a typical sambal and burnt spices.

There are some options for your chili such as sambal korek, sambal bakaran (burnt chili), and sambal mangga muda (young mango). The choice of traditional drinks are beras kencur (Kaempferia galanga), and sinom.

The restaurant is open from 09:00 pm to 9:00 am.
