TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Spokesman Febri Diansyah said that KPK is considering Setya Novanto to be the main suspect in the electronic ID card (e-KTP) graft case following several questioning and court sessions.

“It’s also part of the consideration on Setya’s submission as a justice collaborator,” said Febri at the KPK headquarter on Wednesday, January 31.

Setya was questioned for two days in a row on January 30-31. He was questioned as a witness for another alleged e-KTP graft suspect Anang. There are three people that were proven to be guilty up to this day.

Two of the suspects were Government Officials of the Home Affairs Ministry, Irman, and Sugiharto. Another was Andi Agustinus, a private sector businessman.

Setya Novanto is charged by KPK public prosecutor for his role in approving the e-KTP project at the House of Representatives (DPR) back in 2010-2011 when he was still the Head of the Golkar Party faction.

He is said to receive a US$7.3 million fee and also received a US$135 thousand Richard Mille wristwatch. Setya Novanto is charged with violating Article 2 and 3 of Law No31 on Corruption.

Setya Novanto is currently attempting to submit himself as a justice collaborator (JC), where he must admit guilt and is willing to reveal other suspects of the e-KTP case.
