TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police will look into the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) building's blueprint following the collapse of its first story mezzanine floor today, January 15.
"Each building has its own blueprint that can give us an information of how long it can last," police spokesman Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto said in Jakarta, Monday.

The police will investigate if the building was designed to last longer, but gave in and collapsed. Setyo said the police will also question the building's contractor.
The mezzanine floor of IDX's building's Tower 2 collapsed minutes before 12:00 Jakarta time. As per 15:15, the number of people injured had reached 75 victims, who are currently being treated at several hospitals in Jakarta.
The police said they continue to investigate the cause of the collapse, but ruled out explosion.

Setyo said the incident is a shock, since the IDX's building has been considered as having strong structure.
"This is a 'freak accident'. Who would have thought that a building as great as the IDX could collapse like that?"
