TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Setya Novanto, defendant in the electronic identity card (e-KPT) corruption case, visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building today. KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said Setya was called in because investigators wanted to develop the case further.
"We are obtaining information for the development of the e-KPT case," Febri told Tempo on Wednesday, January 3.

Febri said that Setya's statements are needed to detect the involvement of other people. KPK suspects there are other parties implicated, without naming who they are.
Setya came to the KPK building at noon bringing a white folder. When asked what he was doing there, the man only said: "for clarification."
Setya's initial hearing as a suspect was held on December 13, last year. Prosecutors indicted him for gaining personal gains by receiving US$7.3 million kickbacks from the e-KTP procurement project.
Setya pleaded not guilty and filed an objection, which he read during a hearing on December 20, 2017, arguing that the indictment was unclear and incomplete. The prosecutors have responded in a hearing on December 28, 2017.
The judge will decide whether to accept or reject Setya Novanto's exception on tomorrow's hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court.
