TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Setya Novanto, the defendant at the electronic ID card (e-KTP) graft case, was seen entering the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building today, Jan. 3. He told journalists that he wanted to do a clarification.
Setya Novanto did not go into details on what information or clarification he would provide for KPK investigators today. He arrived at the location at 12:57 p.m. wearing an orange KPK suspect vest and a white folder containing undisclosed documents.
Attorney of the former House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker, Maqdir Ismail, said that his client is prepared to accept the verdict of the corruption court judge; whether the judge would accept his exception or not.

"Syukur kalau eksepsi diterima, tapi harus siap dengan sidang pokok perkara kalau eksepsi ditolak," kata Maqdir saat dihubungi kemarin.
“We would be grateful if his exception is accepted, but we must prepare for a trial if the exception is rejected,” said Maqdir on January 2, 2018.
Setya Novanto’s inaugural trial was held on December 13, 2017. The trial saw indictment hearing by KPK's public prosecutor against Setya. He was indicted for enriching himself by accepting the e-KTP funds amounted to US$7.3 million.
In response to the prosecutor’s indictment, Setya Novanto filed an objection based on their assumption that the prosecutor's data were miscalculated, unclear, and incomplete.
