TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft suspect Setya Novanto has been charged with enriching himself for accepting 7.3 million USD in the e-KTP project. Setya, however, has denied accepting the money in the project worth Rp5.9 trillion.
“It’s not true,” Setya Novanto said after an e-KTP graft trial session at the Corruption Court in Central Jakarta on Thursday, December 28.
Setya Novanto has been indicted for accepting money from Irvanto Hendra Prambudi Cahyo and Made Oka Masagung in installments. “The amount of money received by the defendant, both from Irvanto and Made Oka, was US$7.3 million,” Corruption Eradication Commission prosecutor Eva Yustiana said in a trial session held on December 13.

The prosecutor explained that the graft case started when Setya met Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong and Paulus Tannos at the Pacific Place Apartment. The meeting was also attended by Anang Sugiana Sudihardjo and Johannes Marliem and saw an agreement to give US$3.5 million fee to Setya.
The money was submitted by Anang taken from the funds paid by PT Quadra Solution to Johannes Marliem, through two companies Boimorf Muritius and PT Biomorf Lone Indonesia. Anang wire transferred the money to Made Oka Masagung’s bank account in Singapore. “Made Oka had planned to submit it to Setya,” Eva said.
Eva said that Marliem sent invoices to Anang ordering the money transfers and disguised them as payments made by Quadra Solution to Biomorf. Anang was also said to have met Marliem and Sugiharto to discuss a promised fee for Setya of Rp100 billion. “But if it was not possible, they would have only give Rp70 billion,” she said.
Eva explained that the money transfer was disguised using company bank accounts and money changers both at home and abroad. “The money was finally received by the defendant from Made Oka totaling US$3.8 million,” she said.
Setya Novanto, later on, received more money from his nephew Irvanto Hendra Pambudi Cahyo between January 19 to February 19, 2012. In the period, Setya was said to have received US$3.5 million.
