FPI Member Named Suspect after Raiding Illegal Medicine Store

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of hard-liner Islam Defenders Front (FPI) of Pondok Gede, Bekasi, with the initials BG was named suspect of vandalism and committing an act against the law by the Police.
The suspect is now arrested in Jakarta Police headquarters.
Bekasi Police chief Sr. Comr. Indarto said that BG was named suspect after raiding an illegal medicine shop situated on Jatibening II Street,sub-district on Wednesday (27/12) along with dozens of other Bekasi Raya FPI members.
"The suspect was named after the police opened a case and conducted an investigation," Indarto said on Saturday evening (30/12). BG was reported by H, a store owner raided by FPI. H himself is a suspect since he sells illegal and expired medicine. In addition to H, store keeper Lwas also named suspect.
BG’s attorney Aziz Yanuar denied the case filed by the police detectives. The attorney claimed that BG and other members of FPI have helped the police to reveal the distribution of illegal and expired medicine.
"Our client reported the case, but he was reported and named as a suspect," Aziz stated.
