The writing says, “May Allah, the source of hope, give us all with health, joy, and peace that surpass understanding, keep our hearts and minds with Jesus Christ,” Ahok added, “People ought to be selflessly loving because it is who we are. Humans are made in the image of a selfless God; loving other is what makes us truly human.”
The Instagram post is liked by thousands of users and garners hundreds of comments, most of which from netizens who wish Merry Christmas to Ahok too.
Ahok has been detained at Mako Brimob in Depok since May 10. He is sentenced to two years in prison for blasphemy against Islam.
