TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police has not yet confirmed a report related to the death of Indonesian terrorist figure Bahrun Naim in a combat in Syria on November 30. Previously, the death of Bahrun Naim, who pledged allegiance to ISIS, circulated on Twitter.
“It has not been confirmed yet,” said National Police spokesperson Ins. Gen. Setyo Wasisto on Monday, December 4.

During a telephone interview, Setyo suggested that police do not have information regarding the death of Bahrun Naim, who is also said to be responsible for the Jakart Attack in January 2016.
Setyo also explained that Police are still investigating the death of the terrorist through several foreign connections.

“Bahrun is currently overseas, so we contacted our connections overseas to monitor him. But we are not aware yet whether he is dead or not,” said Setyo Wasisto.
Bahrun Naim’s family attorney, Anies Prijo Anshorie, said that Bahrun’s family is not aware of the news. Anies said that Bahrun’s family are also currently seeking confirmation about his alleged death.
