TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Retailer GAP at Grand Indonesia Mall offers huge discounts of up to 70 percent for its products as the store will bid farewell to Indonesian customers in February next year.
GAP decided to close its store at Grand Indonesia Mall following closures of two stores at Pondok Indah Mall (PIM) II and at Lippo Mall Puri in early November.
An employee with initials JM, who has been operating GAP’s cash register at Grand Indonesia Mall confirmed the closure. “[All GAP’s stores] will be closed in February 2018,” JM told Tempo on Monday, November 27.

JM explained the discounts apply to various products, both for adults and children. JM added the discounts have been offered over the last three or four months. “GAP in the US decided to terminate the contract with GAP in Asia,” she said.
However, JM clarified that PT Kharisma Setrabuana Asri, the company that manages GAP in Indonesia, would not lay off its employees.
“They will be transferred to other branches of PT Kharisma Sentrabuana Asri,” JM explained. The company obtained contracts with several fashion brands, such as GUESS, La Senza, and Superdry.
