TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The wedding reception of First Daughter Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution held on Sunday, November 26, featured a cultural parade that started from Medan International Convention Center to Bobby’s parents’ residence at Bukit Hijau Regency Taman Setia Budi housing complex.

The preparations for the parade included a simulation held on Wednesday, November 22.

Hundreds of military and police personnel were deployed to secure the parade. Five military police motorcycles will be assigned to open the way for the parade. Behind the motorcycles two personnel guarding a golden chariot carrying Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Afif Nasution. Families and relatives of the bride and groom will follow behind them on six other chariots.

Reports said 18 carriages and 50 units of motorized rickshaws carrying volunteers and guests. There were also other vehicles carrying Mandailing traditional music instrument Gordang Sambilan.

The golden chariots were brought from Solo, while the carriages were from the Berastagi tourist destination. Rickshaw drivers were reportedly required to undergo medical checkup, driving test, and others.

“They have undergone medical checkup and urine test,” North Sumatera Police chief Insp. Gen. Paulus Waterpauw, regarding the Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby`s wedding reception.
