TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Immigration Directorate General spokesperson Agung Sampurno confirmed that his office received a request from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to impose a travel ban on Setya Novanto’s wife Deisti Atriani Tagor. Agung added that Deisti’s passport has been temporarily revoked.
“Based on KPK’s order letter, the Immigration office has included the concerned person in the list of people whose passports have been temporarily revoked to prevent them from traveling abroad,” Agung told Tempo in Jakarta on Thursday, November 23.

Agung added that the travel ban was imposed since Deisti is still being probed in relation to a graft case surrounding the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) procurement project.
“The person concerned is prohibited to travel abroad for the next six months,” Agung added.
KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said the travel ban imposed on Deisti has been effective since November 21. According to Febri, KPK investigators would need to question Setya Novanto's wife as a witness in the graft case.
“Therefore, when her testimony is needed, she won’t be in another country,” he said.
To this date, Setya Novanto has not yet provided a comment about the travel ban against his wife. With his lawyer, the House Speaker today attended a questioning at the KPK building.
