TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp has activated a long awaited feature. Such a feature allows users to delete sent messages.

To use delete feature, all you need to do is tap and hold. Then, tap the trash icon and you can choose to delete the message for everybody or only for yourself.

If you choose "Delete for Everyone", the message will be deleted from the chat and it will be replaced with "You deleted this message" on your chat screen and "This message was deleted" for the recipient.

If you choose "Delete for Me," then the message will be deleted only from your own chat screen.

Such a feature can work both on personal chat and group chat.

Unfortunately, this feature still has a drawback. While deleting a message, there is no notification that the process is successful, so it does not guarantee that the deleted message is not read by the recipient.

In addition, the message can be deleted less than 10 minutes after it is sent.

Such a feature has been launched on both Android and iOS. You can use the feature by updating WhatsApp application on Play Store and App Store.
