TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s palm oil is increasingly wanted by Pakistani businessmen, Indonesian Consulate General said in Karachion Saturday (28/10).
It is evident in Indonesia’s participation in Pakistan International Trade Fair (PITF) 2017 in which PT Wira Yudha signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fahad Enterprises for an initial purchase of 15.000 tons of palm oil worth $10.2 million.
“We fully support government’s program to increase trade and investment in Indonesia. In that regard, we facilitate Indonesian businessmen to trade with Pakistani Businessmen. This MoU is a first positive step for both companies to further develop future cooperation”, Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi Dempo A Yuddie said.
PT Wira Yuda Commissioner Herfyan Danal claimed that the MoU proves that Pakistan is really interested in Indonesian agricultural products.
"Increasing number of Pakistani businessmen directly trade with Indonesian businessmen without intermediary, and this should inspire other Indonesian businessmen to explore business opportunities with Pakistan," he explained.
Pakistan is one of the largest importers of Indonesian palm oil. The total export of Indonesian palm oil to Pakistan in 2016 reached $1.8 billion out of the total export of $2.2 billion.
