TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Smartfren has launched 4G mobile phone Andromax Prime. Smartfren President Director Merza Fachy said that many customers are still seeking feature phones.
“It is now difficult to find mobile phones with push buttons, but apparently there are many who still need this type of mobile phone but with advanced 4G technology; the most important thing is it offers VoLTE that create a clear sound,” he said in Jakarta yesterday, Oct. 5
He expects that customers will welcome the newly launched mobile phone. “In Jakarta, it might seem weird but if we visit other areas in the archipelago, many are still using this kind of mobile phone. It’s not a backward step, we want to make an improvement, to help the distribution of 4G in the archipelago,” he said.
The reluctance to switch from 2G to 4G mobile phones typically stems from the latter’s touchscreen design that makes it harder to operate. Andromax Prime is made with QWERTY keypads. The phone is priced at Rp349,000 (US$25.86).
The mobile phone also features one push button to access WhatsApp for easier free chatting, voice call and video call via data call.
Andromax Prime has a 2MP back camera and a VGA front camera with 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, FM radio feature and Bluetooth technology as well as a 2000 mAh battery.
There is also smartworld feature for easier music download and streaming via Smart Music, select ringback tones via Smart Tone, watch video via VuClip app and get an emergency phone credit via Emergency Credit.
