Jakarta Police Chief Wants Questioning of Jonru to be Sped Up

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Idham Azis wants the questioning of Jon Riah Ukur Ginting alias Jonru Ginting accelerated.
“It should be accelerated and once completed we will hand over the dossier to the prosecutors,” Jakarta Police Special Crime Unit Director Adi Derian.
Earlier, Jonru Ginting’s questioning on October 1 got suspended. Jonru’s lawyer Djudju Purwanto said that the decision was made for health reasons after questioning in four successive days since September 28. “He had a cough due to the lack of rest,” he said.

Lawyer Mery Yanto said that her client had answered three out of six questions on Sunday’s questioning. “The questions revolved around the [Facebook] status posted by Jonru,” she said.
Jonru Ginting was named as a suspect and detained on September 29. He was reported to police by lawyer Muannas Alaidid over alleged hate speech on Facebook.
