TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Iman Satria, a member of Gerindra faction at the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), said that he awaits the party’s stance over the Environment and Forestry Ministry’s decision to repeal administrative sanction on reclamation of Islet C and D in Jakarta Bay.
Iman said that he is not against the repeal but he stressed that deliberations on the draft bylaws on zoning and spatial planning are due.

However, the draft bylaws have yet to be introduced to the plenary meeting as it has not been endorsed. Nevertheless, Iman said that Gerindra faction will deliberate on the reclamation bylaws after the inauguration of Jakarta Governor-elect Anies Baswedan in October.
“On the bylaws, we’ll await the governor[-elect] decision. The current governor’s term will end soon. We have already know the current direction of [the deliberations on] the bylaws. We’ll see. A change in governor usually means a change in policy,” Iman told Tempo yesterday, September 6.
Separately, Gerindra faction member Prabowo Soenirman has regretted the repeal of administrative sanction on reclaimed Islets C and D.
The Environment and Forestry Ministry repealed the sanction yesterday. However, the decision only covers environmental permit for reclamation project but not its utilization. The utilization of reclaimed islets will be done once the deliberations on zoning and spatial planning were completed.
