TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki stated that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will not respond to the allegations issued by Jonru regarding the origins of Jokowi`s parents.
Jon Riah Ukur Ginting, widely known as Jonru, is a person who is active in social media and often publicly accuses social and political figures with baseless allegations.
“Why should the President bother to respond to Jonru? Who even believes such baseless allegation?” said Teten at the Presidential Palace Complex on Wednesday, August 30.
Teten urged everyone to practice their political rights through an ethical and healthy manner. “Such slanders are cheap, and it’s time to stop them,” he continued. He also reminded all parties to avoid fooling the public and to start criticizing the government in a better way.
One of Jonru’s controversial social media posts during the last presidential election was recently called-out by Commission III House Member Akbar Faizal on a talk show aired on TV on Tuesday.
