TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) finally canceled the plan to build apartments for members of the council. The reason for the cancellation is because the office homes in Ulujami and Kalibata are still "representative", the House speaker Setya Novanto said.
"The office homes in Ulujami and Kalibata are still appropriate to house DPR members," Setya said in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 22.

Related to the plan to build a new DPR building, Novanto only said that the current building can no longer accommodate 560 members of the House and their staff.
He said that the office building in Nusantara I is only able to accommodate 800-1,400 people. Today, there are 560 House members; each has their own seven experts and staff.
"The team asked me to reconsider constructing a new House of Representatives (DPR) building. Pak Fahri [Hamzah] as the team leader will explain in more detail," he said.
