TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani reported the realization of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Ministry in the 2017 State Budget to the Commission IV of DPR. Sri Mulyani represented SOE Minister Rini Soemarno.

She said that the SOE Ministry has absorbed Rp62.29 billion, or 26 percent of the total budget set at Rp234.87 billion. Sri Mulyani admitted that the budget absorption was below the expectation.

“However, the figure excludes the budget for new contracts that have been signed,” the minister said at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

The budget for the new contracts is worth Rp28.07 billion so that the total realization of the Ministry’s budget will be 34 percent.

Sri Mulyani revealed that there will be a budget cut of Rp45 billion for the SOE Ministry this year, which will be proposed in the Revised 2017 State Budget Draft.

The efficiency will be conducted under Presidential Instruction No. 4/2017 to realize effective costs for overseas working visits, off-site meetings, and other activities. Sri Mulyani claimed that the efficiency would not disrupt the Ministry’s performance.
