TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - Wife of Bengkulu Governor, Lili Martiani Maddari, was arrested in a sting operation (OTT) run by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today. According to police directorate of special crime investigation, Commissioner Herman, Lili allegedly accepted a Rp1 billion bribe from a contractor.
“She was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe from a contractor," said Herman on Tuesday, June 20.
The OTT was conducted at Lili’s house. She was taken by KPK investigators together with two other contractors, Rico Dian Sari and Joni, to Bengkulu Police Headquarters. Not long after, the Governor himself arrived at the police headquarter.
The Governor of Bengkulu, Ridwan Mukti, together with three suspects are currently taken to Jakarta. Ridwan did not say anything about the situation.
Police say that they arrested a total of five suspects. “KPK is still investigating whether the governor is involved in the bribery or not,” said Herman.
KPK seized a box full of money together with several documents that are strongly suspected to be the evidence of the bribe.
