“[He] was arrested when taking his child to school,” Yusri said in Bandung today, June 6.
Yusri explained that Kiki served as a motivator of suicide bombers in Kampung Melayu. “He was a teacher for the JAD Bandung community. His students were the suicide bombers of Kampung Melayu.”
Earlier this morning, Police searched Kiki’s residence in Bandung Regency and found documents related to the JAD network. Kiki was previously arrested for being guilty of assembling bombs with the Cibiru group. He was sentenced to six years in prison in 2011.
Kurnia Widodo, one of the former members of the Cibiru group, said that Kiki was close to JAD leader Aman Abdurrahman.
“Kiki is close to Aman. He serves as a substitute teacher,” Kurnia told Tempo today.
However, Kurnia claimed that he lost contact with Kiki since they were imprisoned in 2012. Kurnia revealed that Kiki decided to join Aman’s extremist group that often accuses other Muslims who have different views from the group of being infidels.
