TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A biopic about one of Indonesia's legendary musician, the late Christian Rahardi, will begin production this month. The making of the film, titled 'Chrisye' after the singer's stage name will be led by renowned director Rizal Mantovani.
"After an extensive research and months of preparation, we are ready to start shooting," Rizal Mantovani said in a media conference on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
During the conference, a short teaser was played. Actors Vino G Bastian and Velove Vexia will star in the movie.
"Hopefully the movie will be well-accepted by the people of Indonesia," Rizal said.
According to the director, the movie will tell Chrisye's music career from the time he entered the industry in the 1970s until his recording session in 1997.
"Because Chrisye was a legendary musician, we decided to tell his story form the time of his beginning until the day he turned solo. We will also depict how he was as a husband, a father, and a friend," Rizal said.
