TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police held a joint ceremony with Kodam Jaya (Jakarta Military Area Command) on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in National Monument (Monas) as the security precaution of the Third Act to Defend Islam that would take place tomorrow, December 2 (212), in Monas.
The joint ceremony was led by Jakarta Police Chief Gen. Insp. Mochamad Iriawan, along with Jakarta Military Area Commander Maj. Gen. Teddy Lhaksamana.
The Asmaul Husna Squad that were deployed in the November 4 rally also seen participating in the joint event. This team will be deployed again to help secure tomorrow’s rally.
“It [the ceremony] was conducted in order to check the troops and to syncronize [our] perceptions in securing [tomorrow’s rally]. The execution of this mass prayer can be considered as a success if it goes without a hitch and no disturbance among the people,” Iriawan said.
The Third Act to Defend Islam is planned to be held without any oration, instead, they will hold a mass prayer together which ends with the Friday prayers.
According to the agreement between the Police and the National Movement to Save the Indonesian Ulema Council’s Edicts (GNPF-MUI), the rally will be held at 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.lndonesia Western Times.
