TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) refused the allegation which said that the Commission funded the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), a non-governmental organization which focuses in combating corruption. KPK Chairman Abraham Samad said his institution had never given any financial assistance to the ICW.
"So here's the thing, there is no budget allocated for them (ICW). There is no financial budget," Abraham said in Senayan parliamentray complex on Monday.
Abraham further added that KPK only cooperates with ICW in managing several activities, such as education programs. "So, there has never been (financial assistance). The allegation which says that we gave financial assistance is a defamation. There's nothing like that," Samad emphasized.
Earlier, member of the House of Representative's Commission III from Golkar Faction, Nudirman Munir, alleged the ICW of accepting Rp400 million from KPK.
