Police Deploy 7,633 Personnel to Guard Act to Defend Tawheed

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police planned to deploy 7,633 personnel to guard the rally titled Act to Defend Tawheed which would be staged on Friday, Oct 26, at 1 p.m. The demonstration aimed at protesting the Tawheed flag burning would take place before the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolhukam) office in Central Jakarta.
Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono called for the peace rally which would be participated by 1,000 people. Argo said traffic engineering would later be imposed depending on the situation in the areas.

“7,633 personnel will be assigned for the security of the rally over HTI flag burning. And the traffic engineering will depend on the condition,” Argo told reporters on Friday, Oct 26.
Earlier on Thursday, Oct. 25, the police received the notice letter of the rally.
“The act will be staged in Kemenkopolhukam office, the meeting point is at the Horse Statue. A total of 1,000 demonstrators will join the action as noted in the letter," said Argo in Police HQ.

Previously, a short video went viral on social media displaying members of Banser (Barisan Ansor Serbaguna), the Nahdlatul Ulama's youth wing, burnt the flag considered to be the flag of disbanded organization HTI in Garut, West Java on Monday, Oct 22.
The Act to Defend Tawheed rally was the response to the flag burning which embedded Tawheed sentence.
