TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Bogor in West Java will face extreme weather for the next three months.
Head of Bogor’s BMKG central statistics and information Hadi Saputra said that the extreme weather is the effect of the transition from the dry season to the rainy season.
“The rain intensity will be extreme with thunder and strong winds. That condition will likely continue to happen until December 2018,” said Hadi in a press release Tempo received today, Oct. 19.

He explained that the peak of the rainy season will take place on January 2019 with an average rain rate up to 100mm/day or over 20mm/hour, half of the normal amount.
BMKG maintained that the bad weather will likely cover Bogor and several West Java areas. Other regions such as Sukabumi, Cianjur, Karawang, Purwakarta, and Depok will also experience bad weather.
