TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party sanctioned the Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin, who had been set as a suspect in the alleged Meikarta bribery case.
“Golkar Party dismisses Neneng Hasanah Yasin from its management,” said Chairman of the Golkar Central Board (DPP) Media and Opinion Raising Ace Hasan Shadzily through his statement on Tuesday, October 16.
Ace said the action was carried out in accordance with the integrity pact that was signed by the regional heads from Golkar Party cadres on February 2 in Jakarta. It states that if the regional heads are involved in the corruption case, the strict sanctions will be given.
The Corruption Eradication Commision (KPK) has set Neneng and four officials in the Bekasi district administration as the suspects in the alleged bribery related to the permit of Meikarta project. KPK suspected that they received a fee commitment of Rp13 billion from a businessman of Lippo Group.
On this case, Golkar Party reminded all its cadres, especially the regional heads and members of the House of Representatives not to commit corruption, which could damage the image of Golkar and damage people’s trust in facing the 2019 Election.
