TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Mandiri analyst Reny Eka Putri predicts that rupiah will grow stronger today, Sept. 21, at around Rp14,778 – Rp14,868 per US Dollar.
“Rupiah could possibly improve following subsiding trade tension between China and the United States and The Fed’s estimated increase in the FOMC next week has priced in,” said Reny when Tempo reached her today.
Meanwhile, Panin Sekuritas analyst William Hartanto also estimates that rupiah will continue moving to the positive trend today at the level of Rp14,780 to Rp14,870 per US dollar.

William further explained that no domestic factors have shown signs of fluxing rupiah today. “There’s only a release of motorcycle sales in the domestic economic agenda, I think that it will not affect rupiah’s exchange rate so a domestic sentiment will be considered non-existent,” he said.
A similar sentiment is also shared by CSA Research Institute analyst Reza Priyambada who predicts rupiah will strengthen today among the level of Rp 14,848 - Rp 14,835.
According to Bank Indonesia’s official website, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (JISDOR) recorded rupiah’s exchange rate to be Rp 14,839 per US dollar on Thursday, September 20, which improved 57 points from the last trade on Wednesday.
