TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (BTP) alias Ahok has finally spoken up on rumors about his marriage plan with a policewoman.
Through his social media account, Ahok, who is currently serving jail time at Mako Brimob detention center, pledged to clarify the rumors. According to Jakarta Legislative (DPRD) Speaker (DPRD) Prasetio Edi Marsudi, the policewoman in question was a bodyguard of Ahok’s former wife, Veronica Tan.
"Regarding the recent circulating information (marriage rumors), BTP will directly answer it after being released," as quoted from Instagram account @basukibtp, Friday, September 7.

The photo uploaded by Ahok’s team @timbtp was entitled "A Message from Mako Brimob."
The photo suggested that Ahok is still the man he was who obeys the religion and constitution. “BTP was currently learning how to be a better person for himself, family, and community.”
Earlier, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi delivered his support should Ahok planned to remarry after divorced with Veronica Tan. Ahok, he added, would hold a marriage after fully serving his sentence in Mako Brimob prison, Depok. The defendant of blasphemy case reportedly will be freed in early 2019.
