KPU Schedules Fit and Proper Test for Presidential Candidates

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Hasyim Asyari said the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidate would undergo the fit-and-proper test as the requirement to run in 2019 Election.
Hasyim said KPU is scheduled to hold a fit-and-proper test for Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin pair on Sunday, August 12. "As mentioned in the registration file, the test will take place on Sunday,” Hasyim said at his office, Friday, August 10.
Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Sandiaga Uno will undergo the test on Monday next week. “The fit-and-proper test for Prabowo and Sandiaga will be on August 13,” he added.

According to Hasyim, the health test for two candidate pairs will be done thoroughly. The test includes the spiritual test and psycho test. “[Test on] everything related to the physical and ability to fulfill state tasks.”
Hasyim explained the result will be announced in stages, yet he could not detail the days. The test result will later be enclosed in the registration file of the candidates to be verified by KPU.
The phase of 2019 Presidential Election is stipulated in KPU Regulation No. 7/2018 on Stage, Program, and Schedule of 2019 Election. The fit-and-proper test on August 5-13 and the verification and validity of the administrative requirement is on August 15-17, 2018.
