TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prior to his meeting with Democratic Party chairman Susilo ‘SBY’ Bambang Yudhoyono, Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto said that he had notified beforehand both Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and National Mandate Party (PAN).
“Several minutes before departing from my house, I received messages from other party members notifying that they viewed the meeting between SBY and myself positively ,” said Prabowo Subianto in South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 24.
Prabowo paid SBY a visit on Tuesday night, which resulted in a meeting that had both agree to establish a coalition together with Gerindra and PKS for the upcoming 2019 presidential election. Prior to Gerindra’s coalition with the Democratic party, the national opposition political party had gathered forces with PKS and PAN.
“I have a great collaboration with PKS and PAN, I intensively meet with their leaders,” said Prabowo. Meanwhile, SBY said that the Democratic party will soon be in communication with PAN party leaders.
Following SBY’s meeting with Prabowo Subianto, SBY is scheduled to meet with PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan today on Wednesday, July 25, while his son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is set to meet with PKS chairman Sohibul Iman.
