President Joko Widodo or Jokowi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has signed the Government’s Decree No. 24 on integrated electronic services for business permits, or Online Single Submission (OSS). The decree, which was signed on June 21, sought to step up capital investment

The decree breaks down business permits into two types, viz. commercial and operational permits. Business permits will be issued by related ministers, institution leaders, governors, regents, or mayors—including business permits whose authorization has been delegated to other officials.

Entrepreneurs can register by accessing the OSS website and submitting their identity card number (NIK), deed of establishment legalization number, cooperatives, firms, civil fellowships, local public companies, any state-legal entities, or public service agencies.

The next step is to fill in the data required on the OSS website. Entrepreneurs who are still bereft of NPWP (tax number) will be given one, as stipulated in Article 23 of the decree.

OSS will then issue a secure, randomly-picked thirteen-digit NIB or business numbers after the entrepreneur completes the registration process and has received an NPWP and an electronic official signature.
