TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police keep hunting down pedophile group members spreading contents of child pornography that had previously joined in the network of Facebook official Loly Candy exposed in March 2017. However, dozens of its members were estimated still made around throughout Indonesia.

Jakarta Police’s Cyber Crime Unit 3 Chief Comr. Haerudin stated 23 Indonesian citizens were indicated as being involved in Loly Candy network. “We have arrested three perpetrators,” said Haerudin on Monday, June 25.

The three suspects were WR (19), AD (33) and IW (26) who were nabbed on June 20, 2018, in Jakarta, Palembang, and Tangerang. “We still hunt down 20 more people,” he added.

Haerudin explained the arrests were due to the partnership of Jakarta Police’s Cyber Crime Sub-Unit of Special Crime Directorate and Major Cyber Crimes Unit (MCCU) of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Based on FBI investigation, the online pedophile group had members across 63 countries who managed 40 groups and channels with members per group at some 200 people. The 23 of 63 countries made simultaneous investigations on the issue.

The result, Haerudin mentioned, three countries namely El Salvador, Chile, and Guatemala succeeded to nab 13 suspected pedophiles. “And we have arrested three perpetrators,” he noted.

In March 2017, the police dismantled the pedophile ring spreading child pornography through Facebook account Loly Candy. Five perpetrators Snorlax (27), DS alias Illu Inaya (24), DF alias T-key (17), SHDT (16) and AAJ (21) were also arrested for distributing the contents.
