TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bekasi City administration will hold bazaar events during this year’s Ramadan aimed at providing cheaper staple foods for the public. “We hope the public can gain benefits from this [event],” said Bekasi Acting Mayor Ruddy Gandakusumah today.
The bazaar will be held in three venues, namely the North Bekasi District Office on May 18 and 19, the East Bekasi District Office on May 22 and 23, and the Bekasi City Square at Jl. Veteran, South Bekasi on May 30 and 31. “The bazaar will last for two days at each venue,” Ruddy explained.

Ruddy said that the event is also aimed at supporting micro, small and medium businesses to expand their business. “Bekasi has 210,000 small and medium businesses,” Rudi said.
Ruddy pointed out that there are nine clusters of small and medium businesses in Bekasi, such as food and beverage, handicrafts, fashion, dolls, furniture, ornamental plants and fish, and accessories. Ruddy called on the public to take loan facilities amounting to Rp17 billion in total provided by BPRS Syariah Patriot.
