TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air Group has proposed the opening for 68 new flight routes through state airport operator Angkasa Pura I (AP I) to the Ministry of Transportation this year.
Corporate Communications of the Lion Air Group Ramaditya Handoko said as many as 60 new routes are domestic destinations; Lion Air opens 15 routes, Batik Air with 13 routes, and Wings Air 32 routes. For the international routes, Lion Air and Wings Air open two routes, while Batik Air has four new routes.

“The routes development in AP I area is done to improve the national tourism sector,” Rama said in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 27.
He added that the expansion made by Lion Air Group not only by opening the new routes but also by increasing the flight's frequency, which is 15 routes from Lion Air and 17 routes from Batik Air.
Meanwhile, the previously closed two routes are now reopened by Lion Air, namely Ternate-Makassar and Makassar-Jakarta flights.
To fulfill the needs of routes development and flights frequency, Lion Air Group received 36 aircraft units.
